INSANELY COOL: Riding the Shore with a prosthetic arm. Inspiring.

Last night, I was tooling around some of my favorite sites when I clicked on one of the best links I ever have in mountain biking. My friends over at NSMB.com started up a new video series called “Hey Neighbour”. In the second video in the series, they feature Will Craig who was in a car accident 12 years ago and lost his left arm. He now rides the drops and tech of North Shore with a prosthetic arm custom made with a Fox rear shock.

I have see a lot of things in mountain biking over the years, but this has to be…quite possibly…the coolest and most inspiring thing I have seen in the sport in a long time.

I’ve tried to find out why the trails are so unnaturally hideous and yet so naturally beautiful. Some people say it is because of the terrain, some say the weather, some say because of the bikes, some say because of the history of the sport here, but Will Craig gave the most honest answer to this. “We want the trails to be hard. I want risk, I want challenge.”
