Video: Saykogel – They say video is supposed to flatten terrain…

Our friend Colin is at it again with his latest video of the madness he rides with his friends out in Austria. As the saying goes…”video flattens terrain”…and if you keep that theory in mind, the trail they are riding in this clip is INSANELY steep.

What I find interesting in this sequence is how much technical riding ability it actually takes to ride down the side of this mountain. Not everyone likes to go blazing fast through wooded singletrack. These guys pick their way down some of the most technical, steep faces they can find and hammer them away until they clear all sections. It is a different kind of riding and we find it really cool.

Enjoy.

This video I took in September 2011 with Johannes Pistrol and Fabian Gleitsmann. It shows an incredible high mountain “bikebergsteigen” loop that we did at the end of the Ötztal valley, above Vent in Austria. I’d like to thank EVOC, Norrona, Schwalbe and Platzangst for supporting our adventure in the mountains that day. Filmed using a Panasonic GH2 and a Nikon D700 to take the stills.
