After our afternoon at Windrock, Jeff is now sending Tweety and I killer downhill videos off of youtube.com to keep the stoke going. Thanks man!

So “the other half” was pouring hydrogen peroxide on the back of my leg from a pedal stabbing incident at Windrock when she looked at me and said “can’t you ever not get hurt?”
I don’t know about you guys…but I thought it was hilarious. There is some truth to her statement, at least in her eyes. I do come home with at least something almost every other ride due to pushing something past its limit or from a freak incident.
Thanks to the guys over on the Turner board of MTBR…We have a great time line of the events that surround Turner Bikes. I have been a huge fan of Dave’s bikes over the years (even owned one and will own more in the future), so I find this story very interesting.
We also included some pictures of old and new Turner bikes in the gallery below…
Yesterday, a few of us (Tweety, JeffD, Chucky and Taz) went to Windrock to get in some long downhill runs. Jeff hooked me up with a 9″ GT DHi with a Marzocchi 888 up front to tackle the rock and it ended up being a perfect ride for the day. It was Tweety’s and my first trip up, and it was my first time on a full out downhill bike.
A fellow ride on our local blog (Cresdawg) linked up some great articles on the roots of mountain biking, so I thought I’d share them with you guys. They really are great reads, and it is always fun to look back on how it used to be. Most of these pictures are before my time, so it makes it even more interesting in my opinion.
We are entering a new area in mountain biking, and things are changing swiftly. The 5″ bike market is taking the industry by storm, and riders who thought they would never be on that much travel are now making the switch.
can not wait for this one to come out. The Collective is releasing Seasons in April. This is from the same guys who brought you Roam which is one of the best mountain biking videos ever made.
The winter riding season has ended for the 07/08 season, so I thought I would share my favorite picture from the year. This one was taken at Rich Mountain during the last of the cold rides. We started off the ride in the low 30’s with several inches of snow that was left over from several days before. It really made for a beautiful landscape to start the climb up Stanley Gap. This ride included over 25 riders that included a lot of veteran racers.
