Take a look at these two new hardtails out of the Ibis camp. That’s right…you are reading it correctly…titanium! Of course, there also has to be a new carbon in the lineup.
Today, Jenn and I headed down to Conyers, GA so that she could attend a woman’s beginner clinic held by Namrita O’Dea. Namrita is on her way to becoming the fastest endurance racer in the woman’s class so her advise for Jenn was going to be incredible. Her and her husband Eddie (another endurance monster) also own 55Nine Performance.
The GP1 series of grips offer maximum comfort and the best possible pressure distribution. They are specially cut for a small to middle sized hand (Size S: 6.5 / 8.5 – particularly good for female hands), as well as for middle to larger sized hands (Size L: 8.5 – 10.5). They feature a forged aluminum clamp for fast and secure installation.
First, how did the Van Michael Loop get it’s name? One of the local businesses in the area, Van Michael Salon, donated $10,000 towards the construction of this new loop for Blankets Creek. Personally, I have absolutely zero problem with naming the trail after them. One, they are supposedly avid mountain bikers, so they are supporting the sport they love.
Well, I did today. I headed up to Rich Mountain (which is a killer of a ride anyway) with some friends today, and I just could not control my heart rate. It was peaking over and over again on stuff that should have been nothing! I had to cut the ride short and head back to the car which was a really long, steep climb and a long downhill away.
he shake-down ride actually ended up being a time trail at Big Creek’s Two Ways in a Day. Big Creek is a Atlanta local trail that provides great insight on how a bike will act in tight, twisty, quick up with quick down situations. As you can see by the elevation map, you really don’t get a break at this place when you are going for the lowest time. The trail still, even after all of the traffic it receives, has loose rocks and steep climbs.
Brian Lopes’s recent announcement of a sponsorship deal with Ibis caught many of us by surprise. Much speculation quickly followed suit regarding which Ibis models he’d be riding. Bike magazine HQ happens to be right around the corner from Casa de Lopes so last week he swung by our office to give us a complete tour of his new quiver.
