The First 30 Days

The time periods vary depending on the rider, but in generally the first 30 days on the bike are the most critical. During this time period, you are going to notice the fastest improvements in endurance and bike handling. I have talked with riders on this subject before, and most of us agree that new riders are much like the graph shown above, you see great improvements at the beginning.

Doing things we hate…

This month, our Lifetime Fitness finally opened around the corner. One of the biggest draws to this gym, for me, was the incredible spinning room. Now, I hate spinning. What is cycling to you?

On Pisgah epics, cycling is an adrenaline rush, exercise and a passion. For shuttle dh runs, it is almost all adrenaline rush (which is addicting). Somedays, cycling is just an excuse to get outside on a perfect day.

CNN Money Article – Specialized Bikes

A post on our local board this week pointed in the direction of an article on Specialized Bikes. On March 16, 2008, CNN Money published an article of Mark Sinyard telling his story of Specialized Bikes. The article is a great testament on how one man can grow a company from a trailer to 500 million by overcoming diversity along the way.
