Winter night riding is upon us and deciding on a new light for the season can prove to be a difficult task. You want to join in on the weekly mountain bike night rides, but you also want to be able to see! The Jet Lites Blast HID is one of your many options.
The 1,000 lumens rating on this HID is industry leading in terms of brightness. This much light makes you wonder if jets are going to try to land on the trail while you are riding.

There are several different battery options available. I picked the heaviest out of the set for the longest ride time.
Installation
For now…I am using the helmet mount included in the kit as my mounting solution. When I am mountain biking at night, I like the light to be in the direction I am looking rather than where my bars are pointed. This light installed just as easily as any other helmet mount and it is secure. The light is also not noticeably heavier than anything else I have demo’ed.
The large 14v battery pack went into my pack and everything was set. The battery connection for the Jet Lites light systems are threaded for a secure fit that will not come undone on the trail.
After One Ride…
I only have one ride on this light so far…but I can already tell that this thing is extremely bright. This HID is so bring that it was actually flooding out the lights of all of the riders around me. I was even lighting up trees that were a 1/4 mile away.
