Video: Unique GoPro Positioning Provides Dangerous Shot Angles

1 min read

The GoPro Hero has to be the best conception and implementation of a point of view camera. We use them for a host of things at Bike198 and I have even used it to video my kid in the car around hard turns in the mountains. Their versatility and ability to mount anywhere with surprisingly good video quality is unmatched in the industry right now.

Where GoPro really gets it right is the ability to mount the camera in locations that seem impossible. This example is a fantastic representation of what is really possible. Want to put the GoPro on a boom and film yourself hitting a DH track? Well…you can with the GoPro…

Check out this video of Andrew Whiteford shredding up his local track in a first person view that he dubs the “vain cam”. I am not sure this would work in the trees of the southeast US, but it sure does make for a cool video.

I founded Bike198 back in 2008 and started riding bikes seriously in 1994. A lot has changed since that time and one of the greatest releases is still getting out on the bike and shredding trail or tearing up the road.
