The Ingredients That Equal The Recipe for a Perfect Ride

The Perfect Mountain Bike RideThis guest post was written by a great friend of Bike198, Kyle Glave. Not only is Kyle an avid mountain biker for over 19 years, part time endurance racer, lifelong outdoor adventurist, but we have ridden together for years. I thought this article on the perfect ride goes great with the holiday season.

With the Holidays upon us, it’s a great time to reflect on everything we have to be thankful for, our accomplishments over the year both personal and professional and spending time with family and friends. It also happens to be a time of year where we tend to eat and drink way too much! With that said, I may have a recipe that everyone can enjoy over the holidays and also carry on into the New Year.

This recipe is very easy to make with the ingredients readily found outside your door and can be adjusted to fit any size group.

What you’ll need for this recipe is the following:

  • One healthy dose of sinewy singletrack
  • At least two lung busting climbs
  • Several tight twisty sections
  • A smattering of rock gardens
  • Dash of roots
  • A pinch of off camber traverses
  • A large portion of screaming downhill descents
  • A touch of stream crossings
  • A dab of technical features (i.e. skinny’s, log crossings, ladder bridges, etc)
  • And at least one epic view

Throw all of the ingredients together, mix well and serve piping hot. Guaranteed you will be coming back for second helpings and even thirds. I should provide a warning though – this recipe is addictive. But I’ve never heard of anyone suffering from too much of this tasty dish!

This recipe is best if shared with at least a handful of friends, although it can be enjoyed just by yourself and the nice thing is you can take it with you anywhere. Feel free to tweak it to your liking.

I hope everyone enjoys the recipe and the Holidays! Happy riding!
