In the southeast United States, we finally hit daylight savings time and the promise of more riding as the weather gets warmer and it stays light outside longer. Normally, we get to ride through the winter as wickedly cold days are few and far between, but…this year…has been filled with nothing but rain, snow and ice as we tried to get off the trainer, out of the gym and on the road. Unfortunately, that did not happen nearly enough and the prospect of the real cycling season starting has everyone itching for a ride…badly.
Weekly Group Rides
With the time change to include more daylight hours, we can finally start up our weekly, after work hours road rides in north Atlanta. What better way to start off the season with a demo fleet, a band, beer and dozens of obsessed cyclists all together at once?! Reality Bikes in Cumming, GA (my favorite shop actually) throws down for the first ride of the year by having a ride, food, beer and giveaways to spark the riding season off right.
Last night, I wasn’t able to make it up there in time for the ride, but I captured some of the nights events as the rain rolled out and left dry roads for everyone involved with the group ride.
